Genetic Link Between Stress and Depression
Did you know there could be a genetic link between stress and depression?
A new study shows people with a certain genetic mutation that causes them to produce less of the chemical found in the brain called neuropeptide Y (NPY) have a more intense negative emotional response to stress.
Researchers found participants with this genetic variation were much more likely to have been diagnosed with depression than those without it.
Tip: If you are stressed often, try simple techniques such as deep breathing, yoga, or meditation. Read more at: Genetic Link Between Stress and Depression
