Mission:  To improve the emotional health of youth throughout the Fond du Lac Area by providing early identification of mental health disorders and risks of suicide through easily accessible screening, referral to services and facilitating follow-up treatment through case management.
Vision: To offer emotional health screening to every student in the Fond du Lac Area before age 18.
The goals of the Fond du Lac YScreen program are:
1) To improve the overall emotional health of our youth by offering all youth emotional health screening by the time they turn 18.
2) To effectively screen youth for interfering emotional problems and facilitate effective interventions and treatment.
3) To reduce the stigma of emotional health issues and increase public knowledge and awareness.
Brief Description of the Services Offered:
Both physical and mental health of young people play a key role in their ability to succeed in school, have rewarding relationships with family members and friends and lead productive, happy lives.  The Fond du Lac Area YScreen Program offers emotional health screening for youth ages 12 - 18.  Designed to identify risk factors associated with depression, anxiety, alcohol and substance abuse and suicide, YScreen is offered to ninth graders in high schools throughout Fond du Lac County.  
This program is free and confidential and requires both the student and parent's permission.

Hours of Service: 
YScreen staff are available Monday through Thursday during the academic school year. 
Services That You Offer to Clients Whose First Language is Other Than English: 
YScreen staff utilizes school interpreters.   
Other Information That Should be Included to Describe Your Organization: 
The YScreen program is supported by foundations and local communities.  It is operated as a non-profit public service and accepts individual donations to help provide free screening services to local communities.  The program receives no funding from pharmaceutical companies.
