Q.P.R. Suicide Prevention Training

A licensed clinical social worker and local nurse practitioner will offer parents and gaurdians training in the innovative Question, Persuade and Refer (Q.P.R.) approach to suicide prevention. They will share common causes of suicidal behavior, how to recognize the warning signs of suicide, and how to question, persuade and refer someone to get them the help they need. The interactive program will also include case studies and plenty of time for questions.

About the Speaker: 

Matthew Doll, PhD, Doll & Associates, a service of Agnesian HealthCare and the Treffert Center specializes in treating children and their families. He works with very young children; a rare specialty. He treats children who have been traumatized physically, sexually, or emotionally. Other specialties include ADHD, affective disorders, OCD, phobias and developmental delays in children. Matt is also trained in corporate consulting, specializing in team building and increasing work team productivity.

LGBTQ Adult Community Support Group

Dates: First and Third Tuesday of each month from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Journey's at St. Agnes Hospital
Cost: Free

Details: LGBT Adult Support group is a confidential support group for adults 18 and older who identify with the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ) community, and/or seeking support surrounding their sexual orientation.

Facilitated by Leann Vice-Reshel, MA, LPC and Paul Clark, MSE, LPC, Agnesian HealthCare Behavioral Health Services, this professional and peer-led group offers support to individuals anywhere in their coming out process, and includes professional education on the following:

  • Coming out
  • Sexual orientation
  • Gender identity
  • Communication with family and friends

NAMI Family Support Group

Date: Monthly on the third Thursday at 6:30 p.m.  

Details: This gathering is offered monthly by NAMI affiliates, free of charge, in a confidential and safe setting at Friendship Corner and is run by volunteer facilitators who are also family members living with mental health challenges in their lives.  Group discussion and interaction will be encouraged. NAMI Friendship Circle: Live, Laugh, Love Support Group

Date/Time: every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

Location: NAMI Friendship Corner 21 E.2nd Street, Fond du Lac

Details: This group provides a safe environment for individuals living with mental illness who want to learn coping skills and strategies. Live, Laugh, Love Support Group will be a peer led focus group entailing recovery topics that impact the lives of individuals with an overall goal of providing support to attendees.
